Elan M999

The Elan M999 takes the familiar design elements of past years’ Elan designs and throws them out the window in favor of a wider, more versatile powder ski. The 99mm waist and soft, almost elastic flex ensure that you float down any depth or lightness of powder, consistently and with full control every time. While the Elan M999 is designed for optimum use in powder, providing high speed performance with pinpoint control turning, the use of carbon laminate and ABS sidewalls allows the use of the M999 to take to the crud with equally impressive results.

The Elan M999 is perfect for any reasonable depth of powder, though for depths of more than 14 inches, it is recommended to bring along larger skis. Medium to long turns are ideal for these skis and because they are so lightweight, they are capable of skiing multiple days as long as the snow remains soft. For locations such as the Northern Rockies, where ice is minimal, these skis are considered among the best. More intense conditions will require a more suitable ski in most cases. Bindings with wide brakes are best suited for this model. Ski lengths include: 163cm, 174cm, 185cm, and 193cm.
