Salomon X Wing Tornado

The Salomon X Wing Tornado TI is back again for another year, sporting a brand new graphic. However, there have been some major changes to the line, most notably the fact that it's been split into three different version. The flat Tornado as we like to call is is a bit more soft than the Protrak version, which makes the price a bit more attractive for some. Because the model has been broken down into three versions, the softer version adds a nice transition between intermediate and aggressive models. Aside from these two models, the brand new Tornado Titanium model is geared toward expert skiers who expect the most from their skis while out on the slopes.

Most skiers seem genuinely pleased with the split in the Salomon X Wing Tornado line, as each newly designed ski is designed with skill level in mind. Now, those who are rather new to the slopes can use the same quality ski crafted and meant for those who are experts on the park. The new Tornado TI flat line is perhaps the best, because it's light and quick and probably the best of mogul skis available for the mountain. Because of how quick it performs, it almost feels like a narrow waist ski, even though it isn't.

Awesome all-mountain ski. I put it to the test at Hunter Mtn., where hadrpack has a new meaning! My last ski was a Nordica Hot Rod Modified, which was a great ski but not stable enough at speed. The Ti has no problem holding an edge on the baldest of slopes. It was great at speed – very stable. I was concerned I wouldn’t like it in the bumps, but except for frozen bumps, I have no trouble.
