Scott Punisher
An intuitive design from the master himself, these Scott Punisher skis are killer for all-around mountain thrashing with a wide hardwood-core and responsive race finish. The flexible-yet-stable sticks handle equally well in the pipes, in the park or on the cliffs and perform great when riding forward or switch. The Scott Punisher is stiff enough for precision on sharp turns and in the air, but flexible enough for forgiving landings and to get that extra pop on jumps. Sidewall Sandwich Cap laminate lends a smooth, fast ride for slope surfers and the wide design makes these skis great for backcountry skiing too.
Riders say the Scott Punisher is a solid follow-up to the Scott Mission with a dual radius side cut for intuitive turning and ferocious carves. Experts love these sticks for pure performance, and beginner say that the complete all-around offers enough forgiveness to comfortably build confidence on the mountain. Coupled with forward or switch versatility, this means the Scott Punisher is fun for anyone, anywhere! If you’re only going to have one set of skis, these sticks are the perfect choice no matter what your skill level is. Hot styling and durability mean you’ll get years of fun out of these skis – and you’ll look great on the slopes too! The Scott Punisher comes in sizes: 162cm, 172cm, 182cm and 191cm.

I have the 2009 Punishers in 162cm. I’m 5′8″ and 140 lbs. I tested these skis and found that they are excellent in the bumps and in the trees, and very good in chopped up powder. They are very quick (14m radius for the 162cm) and carve well on soft groomers, but I had significant chattering on hard snow when going fast. With the twin tip, other reviewers have said that the ski “shorter” than their actual length.
I have Salomon Z12Ti bindings mounted on the center point. I also tested Volkl Tiger Motions (156cm), Rossi Phantom SC 87s, Head Peak 82 and K2 Apache Recons. The Punisher had the best balance of quickness and float.

These skis rock. I have a pair in 172 I picked up a little used and used them as my primary teaching ski in Tahoe. Hard pack a little chatter but other conditions such as groomed, knee deep powder, cowder, bumps and trees they were great. Heavier powder I would generally go for a wider ski but these would handle it. Love the ski.
